10 Wardrobe MUST Haves

Top 10 wardrobe & accessory MUST Haves:
1.       Cardigan & Camisole
It’s important to have a cardigan a cami in your wardrobe as it can be a casual or perfect for the working girl. Cardigans work well with denim, dresses and pretty much any outfit. I like Old Navy for a great fit and low price and Banana Republic.
2.       Blazer
The blazer is great for the working girl or the trendy girl. Whether you’re headed to the office or out for cocktails, throw a blazer on with a pair of boot cuts or skinny’s and you’re dressed to impress. I like Kenna-T and Gibson for a great tailored blazer. Try lace or grey to step up the look a bit.

3.       Animal Print
Whether it’s a coat, pumps, skirt or blouse every woman should have some animal print in her closet. It’s never out of style and a great statement piece. Be aware too much can be a bad thing. You don’t want to be a leopard lady from head to toe. Pick one piece and mix it with a chic black or some red to spice it up but not go overboard.

4.       LBD – The Little Black Dress
Everyone needs the little black dress, how little is up to you! I love BCBG Maxazria and DVF.

5.       Flats
Not everyone wants to where heels 24/7 but that doesn’t mean you have to wear sneakers either. A flat is a great way to be casual and comfortable. I’m a fan of the Tory Burch Reva flat that comes in many colors and patterns. A flat is even the perfect piece to dress up a dressed down look.

6.       Pumps
Pumps are the perfect piece to add a little sexy to any outfit and are the ultimate for a feminine look. The working girl, soccer mom, or the glam girl all need a good pair of pumps. For a great classic pump I love Manolo Blahnik and Stuart Weitzman. Both are comfortable and fashionable. For the look for less try Steve Madden’s Carrie shoe or Jessica Simpson.

7.       Pearls
Is there much more to say? Pearls are classic, classy, feminine and timeless. Whether they are your grandmother’s or costume jewelry pearls go great with everything. Every woman needs a pair of pearls.

8.       Fun Clutch
Every girl needs a fun clutch by their side when they hit the town. There’s no need to carry around your gigantic handbag to dinner and drinks. Every closet should have a small clutch big enough to fit your cell phone, lip gloss, cards and ID and of course your camera to capture the fun times. I love Betsy Johnson for fun bags with sparkle, EXPRESS and Target Accessories.

9.       Leggings
Tunics, Dresses, Cardigans, Flats, Pumps, Tanks… they all pair perfectly with leggings. Very Audrey Hepburn, but still very modern. Comfortable and Classy. Try ‘Hue’ for a great fit.

10.   Fedora
The perfect remedy for the bad hair day or when you just don’t feel like curling your locks. It’s fun flirty and a lil’ Sinatra, the Fedora is a classic piece every girl should have. I LOVE Christy’s’ Crown Series that can be found at Nordstrom.

Mad for Milly

If you want designs that are fun, flirty and feminine then you will LOVE Milly. I love this designer for her use of color and mixture of textures and amazing fabrics. Cardigans, skirts, frilly coats and dresses are just a few finds that I love in the Milly collection. Milly has been spotted on Glee and can be found at Nieman Marcus and Saks. If you’re looking to spice up your working wardrobe or just want to add a few classic pieces that you’ll be able to utilize for years to come, definitely check out Milly.

About the Designer:
Born out of Smith's lifelong love of fashion, Milly is an iconic brand known for exquisite prints and colors, luxurious fabrics and attention-to-detail. Sophisticated and glamorous, her collections embody modern sensibility with a vintage vibe.
Convinced from an early age that fashion design was her calling, Smith earned an art school scholarship to study fashion illustration, and later followed her passion to New Yorks Fashion Institute of Technology. With a keen interest in European fashion and luxury goods, Smith worked at the Hermès boutique in Manhattan to help pay for her studies. Upon graduation from FIT, she wrote to the President of Hermès requesting an internship at the Paris headquarters. Her request was granted, making Michelle Smith the first American Hermès employee sent to work in Paris by this legendary fashion house.
While in Paris, Smith continued her studies at the prestigious design school ESMOD while also interning at Louis Vuitton, Torrente and Christian Dior Haute Couture. After three years, Smith returned home to New York, intent on establishing her own design business, and Milly was born.

Faux Fur for Fall and Winter

Sorry I've been on blog vacation, but I'm back with some great Fall trends, designers and more!

From animal print coats to the shaggy vest I'm all about faux fur and can't get enough of it. It's the perfect statement piece to spice up your winter wardrobe. Throw on a fur vest over a casual thermal or even a cocktail dress. Mix this 60's piece with modern skinnies and a pair of over the knee boots. I love the Juicy Couture reversible vest and the Rachel Zoe collection that can be found on QVC.
